Spreading the wor(l)d

By Bedroom, Blogs, Homes abroad, New Zealand homes No Comments

After having two fabulous days, on a course, in a quaint little place near Copenhagen in Denmark it’s not so easy to get back to work again. BUT I have given a huge dose of inspiration, and can’t wait to get all my creative ideas put in to action! AND THINGS ARE HAPPENING! Some new and exciting plans are being made for the next Interiør & Bolig messen in Bergen this September.  So I’m really excited but can’t say anything about it yet till when all is in box!

Anyway today I’m spreading a tip from a friend in New Zealand. With the world being so small in all, it’s fun to see what going on the other side of the world with interior. Urbismagasine is a great source of info in for design, architecture and interior in New Zealand. Love it.

The turquoise colour scheme here is so divine and calming; the joining of the hallway in to the bedroom is so simple and very elegant. And I just dig the light on the wall in the hallway as well. Just simply beautiful.

Sneak peek…

Painting walls and ceilings dark has to be the most fantastic experience in interior I have come across. It may not be for everyone but if you should just try a room you will be amazed at why you haven’t done it before. And by no means did the room look any smaller in fact I felt the room expanded out not in. When one uses dark colour on the walls and ceilings and floors remember shots of colour and enough lighting are essential to create a right balance in the room.

These pictures are just a little detail preview to my daughter’s bedroom. More pictures of the whole room will come later.

Modern linen covers for Ikea furniture

By Bedroom No Comments

I love these very exclusive linen loose covers from Bemz in Sweden. Easy and convenient that you can change when the mood suits you. Very rustic and elegant and very cool and casual! That bed linen would I die for. This is a very hot style for the summer this year… in wait for all those hot days we will be expecting soon…I hope.

Awesome…now I know there are a lot of people out there who would just die thinking of painting their walls black but it just has this magical and amazing effect on a room. A lot of interior designers would totally disagree with me but I think it can make a room bigger widening the space not making it smaller, with thought for combining the ceiling and walls in together.  It’s an incredibly bold colour oozing with self-confidence.

What do you think?

Quiet please I’m dreaming…

Now I can just see myself walking round in this home with no worries indeed. It’s the simplicity and unpretentious feel that makes it so inviting. A little dash of bohemian and a little bit of second hand finds cleverly marriages the two into a very casual and interesting affair. Bravo! How about you and I sit down by the fireplace with a cup of tea and have a good little quiet time together. Sound good?

Talk about a hamburger of a home colourful enough to eat

You may well have seen these pictures out and about in the blogging world but wham this home is so much fun! This fabulous home belongs to Charlotte Gueniau who is the founder for Rice and she has opened her home in Denmark for a little peak in side. I see the conscious use of a singular colour turquoise in different shades throughout, as a backdrop for the interior, creates a very clean sharpness to the whole home. Well balanced rooms with an unexpected fun factor to the house. More more more please…

Have a fabulous Friday everyone and a great weekend!
