Say no to symmetry in interiors!

By Interior styles No Comments

Ok I might be a little bored with all this symmetry stuff in interiors. That there has to be two lights or even two sofas that are the same in a room. Well I would like to ruff it up a bit. I see many prefer the safe, risk free, predictably symmetrical interiors and that is what we all see in all the interior magazines out there in the world. But let’s face it we’re in danger of being boring. We have to slip loose.

I want personality. I want guts. I want people to show me what they are made of. When creating your own interior you make your own rules. Find a balance with colours,  use oversize objects, place objects at different levels, use layers, move furniture to different areas in the room, use odd lighting together, create an energy, create an awesome pad!

Perfectionism sucks.

I dig this picture today. It’s all in the way you put everything together that sets the mood in a room. It’s unexpected, unpretentious and coincidental. Let the interior you live in show what type of person YOU ARE and not somebody else. Forget the perfect room go for a room bursting with personality that tells me all about you. Loving it!

Happy day everyone.

All-in-white wallpaper

By Interior styles, Patterns, Wallpaper No Comments

I have been recently trying to find some wallpaper lately for a client, which has a 3 dimensional look. I came across this wallpaper with books and with wood paneling all in white.  Love it. It gives a room more depth, looks real and at the same time very elegant. Now this would be fun to use…

Happy weekend everyone and I’ll see you next week.

An eye for detail

By Colours, Furniture, Interior styles, Livingroom No Comments

I find myself very fascinated with this living room below and had to share it with you.  There are just so many interesting details to this room I just don’t know where to begin! The lemon walls with the beige silky curtains. The pictures hung tightly over the top of the windows. The chunky wood base furniture with the classical reading chairs in the back ground. Check the Scandinavian pendel lamp-shade and the brassy French metal floor lamp in the foreground.  Lemon, gold, beige and black. What a mix! And I love the linen coloured floss rug on the polished concrete floor.  Here lives somebody with an eye for detail.

Great pad i Göteborg, Sweden

By Bathroom, Fireplaces, Interior styles One Comment

I’m on the hunt again. This time I’ve found this little treasure in Majorna, an area in Göteborg, Sweden for sale. Look at those high ceilings, enough to make you cry with envy. There’s nothing like the early 1900’s old buildings.  And that beautiful old ‘kakkelovn’. It’s lovely to see people still taking care of the old apartments. Now if this apartment was mine I think I would like to paint the whole apartment in a dark grey, or dark olive or a something dark and sexy! For fun! Why not! But anyway I love what they have done to the apartment here…

What a crazy week I have had. Now it’s time to mellow out for the weekend and relax.

Enjoy the weekend everyone.

Deep and moody…

By Colours, Furniture, Interior styles, Livingroom No Comments

….haven’t had many dark and moody pictures for a while now. I love the dark green walls with yellow and mustard as contrasting colours in this picture below. The glossy picture on the matt wall highlights the picture perfectly with the rest of the room. It’s a very balanced interior which brings the picture and the furnishings together. Very cool!

Rugs again…making a statement!

By Flooring, Interior styles No Comments

I love rugs! And rugs will lift and rescue any room in the house from a boring dull interior. The key is adding an unexpected texture to the room. And why not add a rug whether it is a floral, or floss, geometric or of a different texture. Let it be wild, pump it up! Try it?…

Have an inspirational day everyone:)
