Natural wood, greys and linens

By Fireplaces, Homes abroad, Wood No Comments

Thursday’s interior inspiration comes from Australia. Beautiful natural greys and linens are pleasant on the eye. A splash of colour here would do the trick for me but the materials, textures and tone-on-tone colour scheme makes for a real relaxing styled interior.

Paulistano armchair

By Furniture No Comments

Paulistano armchair…elegant, simple, unobtrusive, stylish and classical.  Originally designed in 1957 by Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha for the living room of the Athletic Club of São Paulo, the simple, cantileevered design is timeless. It’s constructed from one single piece of bent steel and stretched with leather.   L.O.V.E and want!

Step 2: Floorplans & moodboards

By Furniture, Livingroom, My work No Comments

First visit with a client is like being a detective; finding the values, needs and wishes. Reading between the lines and discovering the personalities that live in the home. My job is to find and recreate a home that they can call THEIR own! So working very closely and listening to what they say is the utmost importance. To achieve a fantastic result!

So here is yesterday’s work, with a client, in progress; first moodboard with floorplans.

Kitchen table, sofa corner and dining table in focus…

What do you think?

Spreading the wor(l)d

By Bedroom, Blogs, Homes abroad, New Zealand homes No Comments

After having two fabulous days, on a course, in a quaint little place near Copenhagen in Denmark it’s not so easy to get back to work again. BUT I have given a huge dose of inspiration, and can’t wait to get all my creative ideas put in to action! AND THINGS ARE HAPPENING! Some new and exciting plans are being made for the next Interiør & Bolig messen in Bergen this September.  So I’m really excited but can’t say anything about it yet till when all is in box!

Anyway today I’m spreading a tip from a friend in New Zealand. With the world being so small in all, it’s fun to see what going on the other side of the world with interior. Urbismagasine is a great source of info in for design, architecture and interior in New Zealand. Love it.

The turquoise colour scheme here is so divine and calming; the joining of the hallway in to the bedroom is so simple and very elegant. And I just dig the light on the wall in the hallway as well. Just simply beautiful.

If it makes you happy…

Today I have to share a picture with you.

It just makes me want to smile.

Those cranes legs under the coffee table are just so gorgeous. It fills me with love that the bird pictures are scattered over the whole wall.     Now I’m sure a lot of interior designers out there would just shake their heads in disbelief.  But the colours in the room harmonize nicely, the rustic flooring grounds the room beautifully with the modern sofa and the old style wallpaper. So why not make a little wacky in-balance to tantalize the eye and make the room fun!

So if it makes you happy why not!

Bliss on the balcony

By Out doors No Comments

Balconys are just so cool. Dress up the balcony with layers of rugs and cushions and plants and all that you can find to make it look like the indoors! Create your own little private fantasy pad that no else needs to know about.
Your own little garden of eden!   Put your feet up, bring out the wine, lounge back and drift off in this oh-so-busy hectic daily life. Enjoy!

Colour kick!

Luckily colours are back in again.

I love this colour combination here with turquoise and yellow. Cool vibe! Loads of energy and balance and the wooden floor grounds the whole mix. Fun.
